If you’ve spent any time at all as an Internet marketer or even just researching the idea of making money online, you’ve probably run across the phrase, “The money is in the list”.  And unless you already know what that means, it can be slightly annoying to continue to hear that and either 1) not know exactly what it means; or 2) know what it means but not know how to take advantage of it.

Keep It Simple

Making money from home on the Internet, just like any other business, has different levels.  There are people making a few hundred extra dollars a month and people making six figures a month and everything in-between.

If you want to be on the higher end of that scale, you really do need to build your own list.  A “list” is exactly what it sounds like: a list of people’s names and email addresses that have opted into your marketing list.  You can then send your marketing messages directly to them knowing they were interested in what you offer at some point.

Most successful Internet marketers advertise on the web not to sell products directly, but rather to build their lists.  Obviously, the larger the list, the more sales you can make from it.

So What’s The One Simple Tip??

Here it is: When you advertise, when you buy banner ads, or solo email blasts or do Pay Per Click marketing or send out postcards… HOWEVER you advertise… don’t direct the traffic from your ads to a sales page or website or to someone else’s landing page… direct them to YOUR LANDING PAGE FIRST!!

This will ensure that the first form they fill out after seeing your ad (you know, the one you paid for with your money…) is to get on YOUR LIST!  You can re-direct them to another offer or whatever you like after that, but ALWAYS GET THEM ON YOUR LIST FIRST!
